Rules and Regulations

The organizer reserves the right to amend the Rules and Regulations without giving prior notification or any reasons thereof.

The race is open to individuals 18 years of age or older as of race day who are in good health and can complete the race without getting lost. Runners under 18 must provide parental/guardian permission. Registration will require participants to provide details of their qualifying event name and time result record.

For participation in the 100 KM category, completion of at least one of the following is required:

•⁠  ⁠100K ultra road race

•⁠  ⁠BTRU 55K/60K ultra trail

•⁠  ⁠60K-80K ultra trail race

•⁠  ⁠Ironman-distance triathlon

For participation in the 60 KM category, completion of at least one of the following is required:

•⁠  ⁠Full marathon (FM) road

•⁠  ⁠BTRU 30K or another minimum 30K trail race within the past two years

For participation in the 30 KM category, completion of at least one of the following is required:

•⁠  ⁠Finished official Half Marathon 21KM

•⁠  ⁠BTRU 18K or another 18K trail running race past two years

For participation in the 18 KM category, completion of at least one of the following is required:

•⁠  ⁠Finished official Half Marathon 21KM or

•⁠  ⁠⁠BTRU 7K, or

•⁠  ⁠Another minimum 10K trail race in the past two years

For participation in the 7 KM category, completion of at least one of the following is required:

•⁠  ⁠10 km road running, gym person, active person or mountain hiking past two years

Please note that the race has a challenging route, and runners are encouraged to prepare themselves physically and psychologically. It is highly recommended to read the course map thoroughly.

Organizers reserve the exclusive right to approve or deny registration, including the right to award dispensation (with careful consideration) for those who do not meet the qualification criteria.

  1. The park entrance fee which is included in the race fee is only valid for the runner (1 person).
  2. The entrance fee for foreigners is IDR 100,000 per day. The entrance fee for Indonesians is IDR 25,000 per day.
  3. These prices are based on the rules provided by The Association of Mount Batur, Mount Abang and Mount Agung Basecamp
  1. You understand the unique nature and requirements of competing in a trail running race. You will be running in the dark of early morning and all day through mountainous terrain and have undertaken the necessary training to compete in such a race.
  2. You will be responsible for yourself and have the ability to deal with any problems that may be encountered during the race.
  3. You are able to deal with, on your own without assistance, deteriorating weather conditions (low temperatures, strong winds, and rain) and other troubles expected when traveling across mountainous terrain.
  4. You are able to deal with extreme fatigue, internal organ, and digestive problems, muscle pain, mild physical injuries, and psychological problems on your own.
  5. You fully understand that you are responsible for overcoming the above conditions 1 to 4 on your own and that it is not the responsibility of the race organization.
  6. You are fully aware that when participating in an outdoor activity such as this race, your safety depends on your own skills and abilities.
  7. Video/television footage, photos, articles, race results, etc. may be used and/or shown in newspapers, television, magazines, the internet, pamphlets, etc.
  8. You understand and agree that these rights belong to the race organization and may be used for these purposes.
  1. Please refer to the course map for mandatory equipment required for each category.
  2. Not having all mandatory equipment for your category will cause a penalty.
  3. Failure to bring your mandatory equipment will mean you receive a penalty.
  4. Please note that random checks for mandatory equipment will be conducted before the start and after the finish line.
  1. No Refunds or Cancellations Ticket refunds or cancellations are not allowed under any circumstances.
  2. ⁠Ticket Transfer Option As an alternative, tickets can be transferred to a third party. The deadline for this option will be announced later.
  3. ⁠Transfer Process & Fee The ticket transfer process will follow the BIB Transfer regulations, including an administration fee of IDR 200,000.
  4. ⁠How to Request a Transfer To initiate a ticket transfer, please send a request via email to [email protected]. Requests can be made once the ticket transfer information has been released.
  1. If during the race, you encounter another runner or staff member who is injured or sick and unable to move on their own, please give priority to assisting that person by telling race staff for assistance.
  2. The race is located on geopark and other public/private property places. Please be mindful and share the trail with others at all times.
  3. Do not damage any property located along the race course.
  1. Food and drinks will be provided at selected Water / Aid Stations. Please refer to our Course Maps for such locations.
  2. The food and drinks at the aid stations are only for the racers.
  3. Non-registered racers may not run alongside racers. (No pacers allowed).

What is a Support Point (SP)?

A Support Point (SP) is an official location designated by the race organizer where runners are

allowed to receive assistance or logistics from their support crew.

SP Locations

  • SP is available only for participants in the 60KM and 100KM categories.
  • The official SP locations set by the organizer are:
  • Providing support outside of these designated SP or water station locations is strictly prohibited (e.g., along the course or at unauthorized points). Any violation may result in disqualification.

Support Rules & Regulations

Permitted Support

  • Providing additional food and beverages
  • Equipment replacement (e.g., shoes, headlamps, clothing)
  • Moral or emotional support
  • Basic non-medical care (e.g., changing bandages, foot massage)

Prohibited Support

  • Physically assisting or pacing the runner
  • Providing unauthorized navigation or communication devices (e.g., GPX files not approved by the race committee)
  • Obstructing other participants or interfering with race officials
  • Providing medication or substances without approval from the official medical team (doping is strictly prohibited)

Crew Requirements

  • Crew members are only allowed within the SP area and are not permitted on the course outside SP zones.
  • Each participant is allowed a maximum of 2 crew members.
  • At least one crew member must wear an official ID card issued by the organizer.
  • Crew registration must be completed via this link: https://bit.ly/BTRUCrew
  • ID cards can be collected at the Race Kit Collection, either by the crew or by the runner on their behalf.
  • After registering, crew must confirm ID card collection through this contact: +62 896-0631-8050 (Edi Awan).
  • It is the runner’s responsibility to ensure that their crew is familiar with the terrain and route to the Aid Station/SP.

Etiquette and Conduct

  • Crew must not take any supplies from water stations; runners should collect them as needed. Crew may wait and assist only within the SP area.
  • Crew must keep the SP area clean and organized.
  • Littering is strictly prohibited.
  • Creating excessive noise or disrupting the event is not allowed.

Violation Penalties

  • Warning for minor offenses
  • Time penalty for providing limited assistance outside the SP
  • Disqualification for major violations such as pacing, physical aid, or serious misconduct

Crew Responsibilities

  • Responsible for personal belongings and the runner’s logistical needs
  • Responsible for their own safety while in the SP area
  • Must follow all instructions given by race officials and marshals
  1. In order to ensure race safety, the race organizer will prepare and arrange for rescue and medical assistance during the race. However, each participant must recognize and understand that there are risks that may result in injuries and/or accidents associated with trail running. You are responsible for yourself and will be participating in this race at your own risk.
  2. Emergency and first aid tents staffed by a doctor and/or nurse will be located at pointed aid stations. All aid stations will have radio communication to race headquarters.
  3. Emergency rescues/procedures will be available to racers as well all those involved in the race (e.g. staff, supporters).
    • Please note that, depending on the area, it may take a long period of time for help to reach you.
    • If you receive emergency medical assistance from a rescue crew and/or doctor, please make sure that you get examined by a medical expert at a hospital after the race. Please contact the race organizer center to let them know of your condition after the medical examination.
  4. Doctors and rescue staff have the authority to stop a racer from continuing the race.
  5. If you drop out of the race, you can continuing walk by taking a shorter path to the pick-up point that will take you back to the finish line.
  6. Depending on your condition, an emergency evacuation may be required. This evacuation will be at the expense of the person being rescued.
  7. In the case of an emergency, if you are unable to reach the nearest Medic aid station, pick up point, or finish line, the committee will give assistance.
  1. The race course will be marked using marking tapes, shredded paper, and signs. Race staff will also be positioned along the course.
    (Note: Permission has been obtained from the local villages to put up temporary signs and marking tapes).
  2. Racers will be stopped at road intersections. Please follow the directions given by the race staff at these intersections.
  3. The above signs and markers will be set up just before the race and will be immediately removed after the race.

If you decide to drop out of the race, you must notify race staff. Please remove your race card/bib and report to a race staff member so that the race Organizer Center can be notified. Once you’ve dropped out of the race, you will not be able to re-start.

Dropping out at an aid station

  1. Tell an aid station staff that you’ve decided to drop out of the race.
  2. You will be able to return to the finish line area with one of the marshalls.

Dropping out along the course

  1. If you are able to move on your own, please make your way to the closest aid station (either return to the aid station you just left or go to the next aid station). If you are unable to move without assistance, please call the race official and follow their instructions. It will take time to get help out to you if you are out on the race course. If you are not feeling well, it would be best to make your decision to drop out at an aid station.

A racer may be disqualified or penalized at any time during the race for the following reasons:

  1. Taking shortcuts and/or running off the trails.
  2. Not carrying mandatory equipment, including a foldable cup/plate and spoon/fork as listed in the mandatory gear page.
  3. Throwing garbage onto the course (this applies to both the race and his/her supporters).
  4. Running with people who are not officially registered in the race as racers.
  5. Cheating (e.g. using other means of transportation, using substitute runners, and other unlawful actions).
  6. Not abiding by the instructions given by official race staff including doctors, nurses, and emergency staff.
  7. Continuing to run after the cut-off times.
  8. Doping and the use of prohibited drugs.
  9. Loud music from Bluetooth speakers is not allowed during the race. However, participants may use earphones.

Racer Responsibilities

  1. You understand the unique nature and requirements of competing in a trail running race.
  2. You will be responsible for yourself and have the ability to deal with any problems that may be encountered during the race.

Race Organization Responsibilities

  1. Tell an aid station staff that you’ve decided to drop out of the race.
  2. Non-deliberate damage to property by race participants (e.g. plants and animals, objects, trails, etc.)
  3. Marking and location of signs identifying the race course.
  4. Race safety management.

The race organization reserves the right to cancel or cut-short the race for the following reasons:

  1. Weather warnings sent by the meteorological agency
  2. The inability to ensure runner safety due to risks such as landslides and rockfalls along the course.
  3. Natural disasters (or declared warnings issued by the “BMKG-Badan Meteorologi dan Klimatologi dan Gempa) In such a case, the race course cannot be changed to continue the race, nor will the race be postponed to a later date.
  4. The decision as to whether or not the race will be canceled will be made on the day before the race or on the day of the race. This will be communicated via the official race website.
  5. In the event of an earthquake, hurricane/typhoon, flood, incidents, accidents, and/or epidemics, the race organization reserves the right to make judgments and decisions regarding the shortening/canceling of the race, whether or not there will be refunds, the amount, and the method of communication.

  6. Peserta wajib memastikan bahwa crew yang bertugas sudah menguasai dan mengetahui medan/jalur menuju Aid Station/SP.
  7. Untuk memudahkan mobilisasi dan keterbatasan parkir, kami merekomendasikan untuk menggunakan kendaraan roda dua menuju Aid Station/SP

  5. ID Cards can be collected at the Customer Service tent during race pack collection by showing proof of crew registration.
  6. Participants must ensure their crew is familiar with the terrain and route to the Aid Station/SP.
  7. To ease mobility and due to limited parking, we recommend using motorcycles to access the Aid Station/SP.

•Perawatan ringan non-medis (misalnya: mengganti plester, menggosok gigi, membersihkan badan).

•Light non-medical assistance (e.g., changing bandages, helping with basic hygiene).
 
JENIS BANTUAN YANG DILARANG
•Membawa pakaian ganti, sepatu ganti, headlamp dan perlengkapan penting lainnya.
•Membawa atau mendorong peserta secara fisik (pacing/pacer).
•Memberikan alat navigasi atau komunikasi tambahan di luar yang diperbolehkan panitia.
•Menghalangi peserta lain dan mengganggu panitia.
•Memberikan obat-obatan tanpa izin medis atau dari panitia medis resmi (Doping).
 
PROHIBITED SUPPORT
•Providing spare clothing, shoes, headlamps, or other mandatory equipment.
•Physically assisting or pacing the participant.
•Providing unauthorized navigation or communication devices.
•Obstructing other participants or interfering with race officials.
•Providing medication without approval from official medical staff (doping).
  1. Dilarang membantu mengambil logistik dari water station, biarkan peserta mengambil sesuai dengan kebutuhannya sendiri, crew cukup menunggu dan membantu pada area SP.
  2. Crew wajib menjaga kebersihan area SP.
  3. Dilarang membuang sampah sembarangan.
  4. Dilarang membuat kegaduhan atau mengganggu ketertiban lomba.

  4. Causing disturbance or disrupting race order is prohibited.
